Biased Agenda? A Law School, India & Drugmakers

Three months ago, a controversy erupted in India where intellectual property conferences sponsored by drugmakers, law firms and others angered various non-profit groups that argued the sessions are little more than gussied up opportunities to lobby India’s judges and policy makers. In their view, these IP summits, which are organized by the George Washington University Law School, are attempts to influence sitting judges on patent law enforcement issues that are pending in Indian courts.

Med Students Need Help Dealing With Reps: Study

A paper in the Australian Medical Student Journal found that most med students have “considerable exposure” to promotion, and generally view gifts as acceptable, but only certain gifts ( see page 54 )

Derek Lowe submits: Adam Feuerstein schools the Generex ( GNBT ) folks on what a “Treatment IND” really means, quoting chapter and verse from the FDA. The company’s fans have made much of that designation for its flagship buccal insulin product. As has the company’s CEO – but that link shows her making statements at investor conferences which are, on the face of them, in flat contradiction to the FDA’s own understanding of such matters.
